On the BCHV Lodge Rides, relax into easy adventures with a good horse for company; there are no deadlines, no stress, no cell phones ringing to distract you from the peace and beauty unfolding each day. Through shadowed forest, with red tail hawks soaring above, to wildflower meadows opening to views that make you want to slow down and just stay awhile, immerse yourself into a natural world a million miles from the usual.

Your first day takes you through sparkling stream crossings and deep into the forest. As you climb up and over the mountain, watch for black bears scrambling up the stately fir trees. Deer, elk, moose, coyotes and many species of birds also share their backcountry home. Gourmet saddlebag lunches are served on a high rocky outcropping, the natural beauty stretching as far as the eye can see.

Like adventure travelers from a forgotten era, at the end of the day your horse will carry you right to the door of the Jellicoe Station Inn. Settle in and enjoy the warm hospitality in a country mansion surrounded by nature, lake and mountain views. You'll find all the modern amenities, your luggage delivered, long, hot showers, mouthwatering meals, and soft beds in comfortable rooms.

After dinner, you may choose to linger on the lake view decks, swapping stories with the other lodge guests. Have a game of pool or check out the movies on the big screen TV. If you prefer quiet time, curl up with a good book in one of the many cozy seating areas. Take a glass of wine out to the cliff side hot tub or unwind in the sauna. Or indulge the senses with the ultimate relaxation: a professional massage, specially created to soothe and pamper the weary rider.

With the Lodge Ride, you’ll enjoy exploring new areas every day; there’s minimal overlap in the trails. Whether you’re riding along the lakes, with lunch at the top of a mountain, or meandering through open, rolling meadows teeming with wild sunflowers, there’s a lot of territory to cover during your stay, so come prepared to ride! Each morning you’ll head out directly from your lodgings or load up the horses for a quick trailer trip, making sure you access the very best riding the area has to offer.
