B.C. Horse Vacations - Where Adventure & Luxury Meet

Lodge & Inn-to-Inn Horseback Riding Getaways

Princeton, British Columbia, Canada

Are you an experienced rider? Are you looking to find the perfect balance between wilderness adventure and a little extra comfort at the end of the trail?

Definitely NOT a nose to tail trail ride - We take riders riding!

THE LODGE RIDES

Imagine riding each and every day of your holiday, exploring endless miles of trails in the rugged mountains of southern British Columbia. Wind your way up through the pines to panoramic views, splash through creeks, canter along the Trans-Canada Trail, the longest recreational trail in the world.

The adventure begins the morning you arrive at the BCHV facility. You’ll meet the other guests and your equine partner, a well-trained mountain horse chosen specifically with your experience level in mind. You’ll have an opportunity to spend a few minutes in the arena making friends and getting to know your horse.

At BCHV, the horses are family. Calm, sweet natured, forward moving and friendly, they’re equine companions that horse lovers will appreciate.

“I have to compliment you on your brilliant horses.  They had to be the best trail horses I have had the pleasure to ride. Not only were they in super form, well cared for and happy, but retained their own personalities - just like riding your own horse, but fitter! Chris & Lindsay, Balnarring, Australia

Your first day takes you through sparkling creek crossings and deep into the forest. As you climb up and over aptly named Bear Hill, black bear sightings are common. Deer, elk, moose, coyotes and many species of birds also share their backcountry home. Gourmet saddlebag lunches are served on a high rocky outcropping, with hawks and ravens soaring below.

After a full day of riding, your horse will carry you right to the door of the Jellicoe Station Inn, a wilderness mansion with breathtaking views. You'll find your luggage delivered, hot showers, mouthwatering meals and clean, comfortable rooms.

After dinner, you may choose to linger on the lake view decks, swapping stories with the other lodge guests. Have a game of pool or check out the movies on the big screen TV. If you prefer quiet time, curl up with a good book in one of the many cozy seating areas. Take a glass of wine out to the cliff side hot tub or unwind in the sauna. Or the ultimate rider’s relaxation: indulge the senses with a professional massage, specially created to soothe and pamper.

With the lodge ride there’s minimal overlap in the trails; you’ll enjoy riding in new areas every day. Whether you’re riding along the lakes, with lunch at the top of a mountain, or meandering through open, rolling meadows teeming with wildflowers, there’s a lot of territory to cover during your stay, so come prepared to ride! Each morning you’ll head out directly from your lodgings or load up the horses for a quick trailer trip, making sure you access the very best riding the area has to offer.

“We have both done a fair bit of riding and have horses in our family heritage but we have never truly experienced mountain riding until you took us out there, back there, up there, down there, in and outta there, under there and over there, thro’ there and across there on the Trans Canada Trail, rim trails, meadow trails, forest trails, creek trails, climbing trails, abandoned roads, trails that you had clearly punched in yourselves plus trailering when needed.

Somewhere in your literature I read, ‘We Take Riders Riding’.

Do you ever!!!!!”     Wylli D., Peachland, BC

Rejuvenate your spirit as you reconnect with horses, nature and your own sense of well-being.

“This was more than a vacation. It was good for my soul! Laura, Phoenix, Arizona
